MyWexer: adding own content

MyWexer allows you to add your own content, follow the steps below to ensure you have the correct assets needed to upload your desired own content.

First off go to the Add Own Content page of MyWexer from the navigation panel and chose the content type by clicking the green + (plus) sign bottom right.

Live

This is for entering details of the instructor classes that are taught in the same studio as your Virtual Player.

By creating a Live class this will act as a place holder, once added to your Virtual Calendar, disabling the On Demand feature of your Virtual Player.

This means that your members will be unable to chose an on demand class while your instructor is teaching in that studio.

Click the LIVE option and the pop-up allows you to add:

  • Class name.
  • Instructor name.
  • Class duration.

Should you want to upload a thumbnail, Trailer or Background image you can do that here, remember to toggle on the projector to allow your images to show.

  • Be aware of where the instructor stands and if a turned on projector will be in their eyes. If you have a TV, or similar, this won't be an issue.
  • If you only want the class as a placeholder no need to toggle on, so keeping the projector turned off.

Once happy with all the information, press save changes and you'll see your class details in the main body of the page.

Streaming

Live streaming is a great way to bring 'live' onto the big screen in your studio.

It allows your instructor to be teaching in one of your sites and live stream to all the rest.

You could also use this function for any training seminars you want your team to watch, along with a whole host of other live streamed events you might want to add to publicise what is available to your members.

Streaming is a feature that allows you to broadcast live or pre-recorded fitness classes via an HLS stream.

Each stream is configured in a dedicated block that holds important information about the class, such as:

  • Title
  • Duration
  • Instructor name
  • Thumbnail
  • Trailer (all optional)
  • URL for the HLS stream (essential)

There is also a drop down to chose studio equipment needed, and the Fallback class drop down.

  • It is good to consider adding a fallback class, live streaming can sometimes go wrong should there be an internet outage/poor connection.
  • If you have a Fallback class entered should the Streaming not happen or cut out part way through, the Fallback class with automatically start.

Once set up you can:

  • Add this stream to your class schedule using the calendar module.
  • For live streams (as opposed to pre-recorded content)
    • It's important to ensure that the stream is scheduled at the correct time to match the actual live broadcast.
  • To stream live classes, you can use third-party services that support HLS streaming.
    • Popular options for streaming and HLS conversion include OBS Studio, Restream, Streamlabs, and Vimeo Livestream.
    • Additionally, if you need a service to convert your live stream into HLS, providers like Mux, Wowza Streaming Cloud, AWS Elemental MediaLive, and Akamai offer robust solutions for this.
    • These services can work with a variety of broadcasting setups, such as mobile apps or dedicated streaming hardware.

Note - Wexer provides its own Partner Portal for live streaming directly through Wexer’s system, where class planning and scheduling sync automatically.

The streaming block on MyWexer is intended for external content and third-party providers, separate from the Partner Portal.

Once happy with all the information, press save changes and you'll see your class details in the main body of the page.
